Perils of a blogger

So I met with friends the other night, and I realized an interesting fact..... every time I went to say something, I had to stop, "hmm" I thot, "I think I wrote that on the blog" then my next story would again be on the blog, so I had to make a choice, either keep talking and repeat all my stories, or keep quiet and start handing out cheat sheets. Then people could tell me what they have and haven't heard already! :-) Sigh, who knew the blog would have side effects!

@ the zoo with Maddie

When your friends away, with your mom you must play :-) Maddie wanted to do something today and she thot of the zoo. So, since we haven't been there for ages, we packed up and went! It was hot, fun, and we took allot of pictures to capture our day :-)

I've taught her well :-)

This was a new area since I have been here, this shallow pool gives you a great view of the passing sting rays, very kewl!

time for a snack

all the other "cats" at the zoo today were sleeping, except for this one.

when Maddie was 3 I took a picture of her in the mouth of the snake, now she is a little taller! I'll have to find the old pic and compare.

OMGosh, Koala's are so cute!

Holy Crow! (Raven, Actually.)

One early Saturday morning, a chorus of birds woke us with a very loud chirping session they were having. They sounded quite upset at something. A few days later, we heard what almost sounded like a human trying to emulate a bird squawk. Well, yesterday I looked out in the backyard and discovered what those other birds were talking about and where the human like squawking was coming from.

Look at the massiveness of that bird! It is amazing he can fly. I think he's bigger than Mitsubeeshee!

Crop Circles?

So, a few days after our BBQ/bonfire with friends, we noticed these circles on the grass? The big one is from the fire pit, that was easy to figure out, but the others had us puzzled..... it took while but then it dawned on us.... those circles are from the lid of the pit! Every time we stoked the fire and placed it on the grass, it made a perfect little crop circle burn mark! Oopsy! Oh well it goes well with the "x-filey" x that shows up on our fence when the sun hits our windows just right!

Dean's 20 year reunion

What does 1989 and golfing have in common? Dean's reunion. 20 years ago, Dean graduated, and this weekend the big McCoy reunion took place. The committee put on a great show, from the goofy golfing to the party at the end of the night. We had a blast! And Dean hasn't been in a room where he's known so many people at once for awhile ( since the wedding maybe?) anyway, it was fun.... here are few of the 400 photos :-)

A basket full of shots... every hole, take a shot, some water, some booze, and some in there own category of absolutely disgusting, burn your throat, HOT tequila!! ughhh it hurts all over again just thinkin' about it!

nice refreshing peach schnapps, we were given instructions to make sure this was empty when we brought it back.

The beer "girl" definitely needed in the +30's heat

fellow golfers, they are the pickup team, they had to gather all the props and disposable cameras along the way.

thru' the ball washer

I went into the bushes to get a very special golf ball and came out with twigs caught in my hair, and burrs all over my pants and shirt! But I did find the ball :-)

the old' golfing with oven mitts trick...."someone" added sand to the mix??

the pretty pink ball :-)

add a mask and blindfold to the golfer for a good chuckle!

nice reminder of cooler sports in the heat of the day, teeing off a snowboard!
