Claudia and Steven Tyler Rock

Dean and I are sittin' watching a movie, when Claudia calls. She asks what I'm doing tomorrow night ( Friday ) and I say "nothin'".... she says she has 2 tickets to Aerosmith FREE!!!! Now, if ever stranded on an island I would be taking an Aerosmith disc with me!! I love these guys... so of course I JUMPED at the tickets...... then as the night turned... Dean was unable to go... so I quickly called Dale and surprised her with a ticket. First I teased the heck out of her by giving her no info, just to be free from 6ish to midnight! We headed down to the concert, and my wonderful friend ( via her friend Anita ) handed us 2 tickets!!! YAY, now that they were in my hand I was jumping with excitement!! We found our seats which were great, and patiently waited for Steven Tyler to appear. First was Joan Jett, I figured I would sit and wait for the one song I knew, and that would be it... no such thing happened.... Joan Jett Rocked the stage!!! She was amazing... she sounded crystal clear, and I felt like I was in a time warp, she sounded JUST like she did way back when! It was a perfect rockin start to the night! And.... I knew way more than 1 song! I just forgot she did so many!

Joan Jett
Bad Reputation
Cherry Bomb
Light of Day
Do You Wanna Touch Me (Gary Glitter cover)
A.C.D.C. (Sweet cover)
You Drive Me Wild
???
Love Is Pain
Fake Friends
School Days
I Love Rock 'n' Roll
Crimson and Clover
I Hate Myself for Loving You

After the break, we found our seats again and waited on pins on needles... the lights go out, and we hear It's gettin hot in here by Nellie.... from where we were sittin we could see behind the massive curtain that said AEROSMITH and out saunters Steven Tyler, wearing a long white coat and sparkling in the night... he dances behind the curtain, waiting for the cue for the curtain to drop, but we could see him :-) then, you start to hear the intro to "Same old song and dance" over the Nellie, and when the song takes over, the curtain drops and the crowd goes WILD! Perfect song to start with, because despite their age... Tyler 62 and Perry 60.... they sound the same, Tyler's great bluesy rockin voice with the longest held notes ever! and Perry the master riffer on the geetar!

It didn't stop until it stopped.... it was "Amazing" to say the least! We danced, sang, swayed, and held our cell phones up to the air! There wasn't as much running around on stage as the old days.... but hey.... when you can sing like that... and sway that scarf covered mike, including throwing it up in the air and catching it, you really don't need to run around :-)

This was the 40th anniversary of Aerosmith! Pretty impressive! Joe Perry came out and said to the crowd, he sees these kids who come up to him and say, hey you're that guy on the video game, I beat you all the time... and he laughed and said this just won't do, so he battled himself on stage with Guitar Hero, he of course won! It was also Joe Perry's birthday, so we all sang happy birthday to him and Joan Jett brought out a massive cake.

The drum solo was pretty cool too, I don't know the drummer's name? anyway, he beats the hell out of the drums, then stands up and waits for the cheers from the crowd as they go insane, then back to drums, crowd, drums... he did that for awhile, then he threw his sticks away.... sat back down and drummed with his hands.... still awesome!! he even threw in a few head - drum butts!

It was sad when it was over.... such a great concert!!! and so may songs we didn't get to hear... but lol when they have 20o songs.... it must be hard to pick what to play!!!

There is a video at the bottom of this blog, but it's massive and may not load for everyone... so here are a few blurry pics :-)

just before the lights went out, the stage is set...

How many clicks?

This picture is amazing and memorable for 2 reasons..... this is Maddie's first resume' she ever made and..... it is the 36594th picture my camera has taken!
A few months ago, I found this cool little application that you install and it reads the total number of pictures that our Nikon camera has taken since we got it in 2007.

This was picture #36594. This means that since we got this camera we have averaged over 1000 pictures per month every month. Wow!

Coming soon are just 10 of our favourite shots over the past 3 years. Thanks Nikon!

I have never seen this magazine before, but After Starbucks with Lisa and Carolyn, we cruised the magazine aisle in Chapters. Carolyn picked this up and started flipping thru the pages, their were tons of kewl, unique Spooky ideas! I was intrigued.... so when it was time to leave Carolyn was heading to buy the book, and I had to have it, being the spooky one of the bunch, but in trying to do so, I foiled Carolyn's surprise! She was buying it for me! So, this is my happy picture for today! A new idea book :-) moi haha ty :-)

X files comics

Today we went to the Crossroads market again, not for food, but to visit our friendly neighborhood comic dude. He has every comic book you can imagine. We asked him if he had any X file comics and he handed us 8, which we promptly bought :-)

Breaky with my hubby

Weekends around here are usually pretty quiet. We would rather stay up really late than wake up early. But today we found ourselves both up at 9. We decided to take advantage of this and go for breakfast. Dean took me to a funky little place on 17th called Nellies. The food was fantastic and the surroundings were very entertaining. The walls were filled with old paraphernalia, old records, toys, kitchen gadgets, magazine ads. You name it, it was kewl, I even had a few items that were on the walls!

this was my yummy Ukranian (break the fast) breaky. It was yummy, you can't go wrong with perogies for breakfast!

Dean's plate was very pretty, "heuvos rancheros"

...that makes me happy

Back in February I was trying to take a 'picture a day' of something that makes me happy, and then I got sick.... and that great idea went out the window. So this morning, I asked Dean if he had anything to blog? and he didn't. I said " I don't know what to blog either?? oh no tradegy!!" Dean said, "why don't you do a picture a day again" I left the house saying " I will take a picture of the first thing that makes me happy today"... and I walked into work and there was Carolyn, my wonderful friend who I missed tons over the summer, and NEVER work with in the day! so.... that made me very "happy" and we had a wonderous day working together :-)

FLASH: It is NOT Katie or Geo's Birthday

So, me and Maddie are driving home and my phone tells us that there is a birthday today. I have Geo and Katie's phone numbers under the same name so we weren't sure who's birthday it would be? We didn't think that there was a birthday so soon after we left, but my phone can't be wrong. So I said to Maddie ( cause I'm driving ) we better phone over there.... Maddie says but how will we know who's birthday it is, I said "well say I hear there's a birthday today... " and if It's Geo's birthday and he answers then he'll say thankyou, and if it's Katie's he'll say "one sec I'll put Katie on" lol well!! Our plan backfired..... Maddie phoned and Katie answered, Maddie says the script, but I hear her say next, "George's birthday??" then "Katie's birthday??" now Maddie is scowling at me because I made her phone and it's nobodies birthday.... we were too early for Katies, it's at the end of Sept!! But better to have phoned, even when you think you're wrong, than to have missed it altogether!! So it's not their birthday, but it IS their UNBIRTHDAY!! so happy unbirthday to you both! and everyone else who's birthday isn't today!
