Cleared Customs....

And we are technically in the United States even though we haven't left the Calgary airport yet... The Customs agent asked us more questions then the one we experienced in March. After looking at cute Selena's innocent puppy eyes, she cracked a big smile and said "You've hit the motherload, you are going to experience Black Friday and Thanksgiving. Welcome to the United States!"

Walmart at 145am.

There's no one here and you can shop. Its kind of like we work here but don't have to clean anything up!

Viva Las Vegas..........

the countdown begins....

Me and my 17 year old... ahem...

Scrapbooker's Paradise has a class called a Frenzy, it starts @ 6PM and goes til midnight.. I told Maddie about this, and she thot it was so kewl that you got to be in the store till 12:00, after it closed! So I enquired if she was allowed to go... the answer... No. :-( This made us both very sad... so I told the teacher that we were sad that she wasn't able to attend. So the teacher said she would find out, because she used to bring her niece. Anyway the new answer was yes!! So we packed up our scrapbooking items and headed off to the store. We got there
early to ensure good seats, and Maddie had the whole store to herself to shop! She got some fun stuff for her project, and then we started to work. 6 hours flew by, before you knew it, we were getting our supplies ready for home. I jokingly said to Maddie before we arrived, if anyone asks how old you are, just say 17 and a half, then nobody can say anything about you being here. Well if someone doesn't ask within minutes of the class starting! Maddie proudly said, 17.5! And for the rest of the night sat in with us, and nobody batted an eye about her age again!

Our teacher Jeannie, showing us our Halloween project for the night.

Meteor near Edmonton!

There were two seperate accidents last night on Deerfoot trail. So I was driving home very slowly last night. My constant drivng campanion, 660 News, reported this strange news story during my slow journey. Well, this morning here is the video that sparked their report! Cool!

This time last year...

I guess we were at the Bay signing up for our wedding registry last year at this time. We received an invitation to go to the Bay and purchase anything left on our registry at a discount. So we figured, what the heck, we'd go and see what was cool or fun. The deals were crazy!! We basically paid for 1 item and got 3 free! So now we have a pasta maker!
We are very excited about this new toy, but we have to wait until the part is in stock. But that's ok, we'll be away next week, so maybe it will come in without too much delay. Aside from the incredible deals, free snacks, water and perfume/ cologne samples, we got a phone call today saying we won one of the basket draws! YAY... maybe I should put aside a few coins for the slot machines next week? lol

Best of New Orleans After Dark.

Selena and I ventured southward on Friday to try and re-experience a taste of New Orleans at the previously blogged restuarant Best of New Orleans in Okotoks. A live band played New Orleans style music throughout the dinner. We really enjoyed lunch there and dinner did not disappoint. My only complaint is that I didnt get to try all their offerings.

We started with Oysters on the Half Shell which we really enjoyed with reckless abandon while we were in New Orleans. We also ordered a scallop appetizer that also excellent.

I settled on Seafood Au Gratin. It was a medley of seafood (shrimp, crab and scallops) in an exquisite cheese sauce. Selena went with the Crawfish Etouffe which was the same dish we made at our New Orleans cooking class. She really enjoyed it. But not as much as the one we made in the cooking class, haha!

We finished a great night off with a homemade pecan flan for me and what else for Selena but some Bread Pudding (also featured as the dessert at our cooking class.)

Awesome food and a great night - New Orleans style!

The weird things that happen..

..... to us!

There I am driving to a class at Scrapbookers Paradise, and I notice the car in front of me has a license plate that says - SWEBER - Ha! I laughed... (since technically that could be my plate, but I'm a Cantafio! ) anyway, I tex't Dean and told him about the plate...

Fast forward to 2 hours later, I'm sitting in my class... and get a Text from Dean, he was just following the same car, into Beddington ( I was leaving Beddington )

What are the odds???? like I said, weird stuff that happens to us.

Just in case you were wondering, the class I took was to make an acrylic photo album. Something I had never seen before, it was so fun!! and my book is soooo kewl!!

Our TV...

Well I, for one, am glad the election is over. I was very tired of my TV being riddled with he said, she said commercials. ( he won't cut costs... blah blah blah ) I survived, and now I can watch the other commercials that are on.... oh wait, that's not good either. Ok, back to the PVR. :-)
Once again, Kevin Bacon is in our Blog!

Save my soul!

In the morning after Halloween, I found this flyer stuffed thru my door. It was actually stuck in so I could it see from inside!! Do you think they were by the house on the 31st, and sent out a emergency savior to save my soul?? They better get ready I have more followers this year then I had last year. I'm gaining in popularity!! Last year only 79 kids, this time lots of them told me they were too afraid to come last year..... so aside from the pressure being on for next year, the saviors will have to send out a whole troop to save us all!!!

God bless you all :-)
