Just a few more days left of Stampede, the big 100 where we are smashing records left and right :-) We went on Friday, opening night to the Chucks, and Grand Stand show...
The weather was perfect.... it's been HOT! We had perfect seats for the Grandstand show... up high so we could see the whole stage, and protected from the roof!
We met up with Dianne, Kevin and crew after.
The finale, a big hot air cake was blown up, we all sang Happy Birthday to the stampede, and that is Paul Brandt in the silver truck in the air...
the fireworks....as usual it was an amazing show.... this year even more special, being the 100!
Di got us VIP passes for COWBOYS so we all met up there after... beer 7.50.... memory priceless!Day 2 at Stampede, after Montana ( seperate post ) we went to the Rodeo part of stampede for the first time. It was fun! We had some food first then headed into the grand stands. We were just in time for the steer bucking and bull bucking part... we saw a few cowboys get thrown around!

the new sculpture unveiled this year, By the banks of the Bow. It's really kewl! Celebrating the Horse, it's spirit, strength, speed and dependability.Maddie told me I had to visit this booth in the BMO center, so we hunted it down. They had necklaces with the moon on the day you were born, and during the day it collects light so at night... it glows.... I had to have one, guess what kind of moon I was born on?? haha A full Moon! that explains some things...lol
We went into the Casesar tent for drinks, and a spokesman for Mott's walked by, liked and recognized Dean's shirt, so he gave us 2 free drinks! That's huge at these prices :-) ( P.S. if you don't know, it's Tommy Boy )
100 years..... Ya-Hoooooo
We met up with Dean and Ruby, walked around a bit, Dean went on the slingshot so we all got to witness it!
These guys were awesome! Banging away on tubs, and chairs but they were GREAT!
we went on the WestJet sky ride, once in the day, to see everything from up above, then in the dark to see the lights....
and we couldn't have planned it better, we were on the ride for the fireworks!!
me and Dean on the ride....fireworks behind us
the Zip line tower....
On Wednesday in honor of Kevin's visit, Dianne hosted a Stampede Party Pig Roast.... it was awesome! Man can that girl throw a party! Everything was cowboy'd up, the back yard looked great.

Jeanne, her pin had the initials BD & P so I dubbed that, best dressed and pretty :-)
Dean presented Kevin with a Bud Light Lime.... he's from California, so Dean wanted him to feel at home, with beer from his Country lol ( All the way from Montana )

Friday morning, we braved the sky that looked like it was going to pour on us, and we met Dale for the Sunridge Mall Pancake Breakfast... it was fun, after the sun came out... we have been spoiled and were chilly without the +30 weather!
even the plates had the logo on it! Kewl..... yummmmy
and Mayor Nenshi was there..... so I hugged him :-)
haha this guy had a cool bike/bull??
Maddie was happy when she saw the petting zoo :-) patting the piggies...
So much fun, I love Stampede, I love seeing western things and cowboy hats all over town.... it's a great time be here in Calgary! Like i've said all week..... Ya hooooooo :-)
