Day at Bowness

I had the day off today, so me and Maddie packed a lunch and headed to Bowness park. We brought a bunch of games, some bubbles and a blanket. We played, eat and watched clouds till it was time to go home. Fun :-)

Cathy is Texas bound

So when I started at Scrapbookers Paradise, I was told that nobody ever leaves... unless they move to Texas! We lost our second co-worker to Texas!

we had a little get together next door to the store to give Cathy her farewell gift.

Carolyn made a scrapbook page with all of us on it, and talk bubbles with wishes for Cath. It was really cute! Gloria, Cathy and Holly.

lol not all fun and games, we had to tease Gloria for getting a speeding ticket in BC. Holly made a scrapbook page about her last ticket.... maybe a second page coming?

We'll miss ya Cathy, but now we have another place to visit! :-)

Nova Scotia bound

Maddie's friend Emily is from Nova Scotia, and her and her mom were going to go visit this summer, somehow, Maddie got invited, or invited herself...lol but she was able to go with them. Very exciting for her! Her first trip that far East, and with a friend!

I'm all teary eyed, and this stupid cow was waving my camera away... bite me lol When Cheyanne left, I walked her right up to the gate. Oh well, it was a distraction :-) Maddie was gone for 6 whole days! But she had a blast!

Maddie and Cheyanne tried to knock a few things off Maddie's summer bucket list, one of them was making cupcakes. I wish you could see the time stamp on this pic, they made these at 4 inthe morning!!

also on the bucket list was a chalk mural, this chalk was glow in the dark, first they had to make it, then they had to use it. It rained in between the setting time, so the driveway was too wet. They had to cram onto the sidewalk.

many bracelets were made and traded. All in all, it was a funfilled trip!

Lake on the road!

It rained so much today we had a lake on Symon's valley road. The other side of the road has cement blocks along the way for construction, and I guess they must be pretty water tight, because all the rainwater that came down the hill pooled on that side of the wall. It was about 3 feet high? you can see against the truck. We pulled over to watch and when a truck passed by the water came up and we thot it was going to hit us... hence the scream! But talk about free entertainment!

Value Village with Cheyanne

Today we had a few options, but decided on Value Village. Many treasures awaited...

After Butterfield Acres, the next logical step is of course... the beach!

we tried to stay on the edge os shade so Maddie wouldn't burn....

Today was Butterfield Acres, the girls were here many years ago.....

this little guy kept getting out of the fence, Cheyanne put him back in once, and the people who worked there said, forget it, he always gets out, so we saw him wandering around the whole farm.

Day 2 Cheyanne

Big driving day today, we went to Nanton to check out the antique stores and candy store.

In the antique store, no big treasures today. But we had fun.

when the girls got home they made necklaces out of fruit loops,

gotta love jewelry you can eat!

I dropped the girls off at the new mall, Cross Iron Mills and let them shop til they dropped. Good thing they had food!

Cheyanne arrives

Maddie had a suprise visit from Cheyanne! A few days ago I got a text seeing of Cheyanne could come for a visit, but it was hard between Maddie going to Nova Scotia and us going to Toronto, so I said "well.... she can come now... the dates were perfect!" and it just happened that her dad was able to put the trip together quick! Maddie was so happy!

the flight came in at 10:30 @ night... we thot it was AM, :-( we found out before we went to the airport lol but then we had the WHOLE day to wait....

Buckle up...

I took Maddie driving today! This is the first time she has ever been behind the wheel!

We drove up and down the back lanes, getting her used to the feel of the brake and gas. We tried to avoid the street, but we had to cross a few times.... Maddie was a little nervous, but after some more practice runs she'll be fine.
