Our Photo Shoot!

We were at one of those Wedding Shows last year. We walked in there and hated it immediately. (Yes, Selena did too. It wasn't just a guy thing. Haha.) Anyway, I think we paid 10 bucks each to get in there so we decided to at least walk around.

I walked up to one display and a really cool image caught my eye. It was a bride pictured sitting on the back of a police car. I loved it. Then another image - a couple at a Subway - a few more of couple running through the streets of Calgary. Wow - these were the most extraordinary wedding pictures I had ever seen.

I had just walked into the world of Andras Schram http://www.andrasschram.com/ (click the link to go to his site)

One of his creations is above. He is very personable and very easy to work with. We loved our photoshoot that involved running through the streets of Calgary. I am sure glad we decided to walk around that wedding show!

100 Diet Cokes

Some of you may have seen this video before, I think it's a brilliant photo project and loved the idea. Unfortunately I didn't start my own 6 years ago to be able to blog it today, so what we came up with was this...

22 Days to drink 100 Diet Cokes

33.5 litres of Diet Coke

4.54 cokes per day. Just for the taste of it.....

There are only 17 days left til the Wedding, I don't even have time for another 100 Diet Cokes!!!

The answer to "Who broke my zipper"

The answer is "Someone (Aka:Dean)". At the old house, the backdoor was where Maddie and I would usually enter. Our jackets were hung right by the backdoor. Weeeeell, one day I was leaving to go to work and her jacket zipper must have moved into the path of the door. When I left I must have have slammed it in the door and broke it. When telling the story of what happened to her jacket, she diplomatically said "someone" rather identifying me as the culprit.

The Boy Who Cried "Eclipse!"

If you scream "Eclipse!" every day one day you will be right! Well, yesterday was that day. Here are some shots of the eclipse of yesterday captured from the video camera we took from the house last night. It was really cool. I think it was because we practiced in the drill the night before. Enjoy. See you at the next drill!

Moon Drill

Did anyone see the Lunar eclipse last night?? No? That would be because it is TONIGHT! There the 3 of us are, outside on the driveway, camera's in hand, looking up at the sky. We looked at the moon so long we actually started to see the eclipse.... but after many minutes, we thought we'd better re-google it. And the date stared us in the face... Wednesday Feb 20th... lol ok so we did a moon drill. Tonight, we'll be prepared :-)
UPDATE: Please see the comments for the real story!

Answer to: Which cat turned out the light

picture this... it's a Citywide extravaganza. Dean and I worked all night long to get inventory cards shipped off to one of his clients. We finished in the wee hours of the morning and came home starving. We go into the kitchen to get a late night snack, and of course the whole house is dark upstairs... ( this was at 41 ) so what else do you do when it's dark, you turn the light on. We are greeted with a sleepy faced Lucky, squinting in the bright light, who promptly turns his tail to us, hops up on the side table, stands up to the switch and with his teeth... turns the light off. Then he looks at us, and then jumps down, curling back into a ball to sleep!! Dean and I look at each other with a stunned expression and I say " that's new" and then we broke into side splitting laughter!!!

Wedmentum!

Wedmentum n. - A flurry of activity in the final days leading up to the wedding where things put off to the last moment finally get done.

One of those things was setting up a Registry for the event. We went to everyone's favourite store - The Hudson's Bay Company ( or The Bay for those of you born after 1899).

It was a fun time- they give you a little hand held scanner thing and you scan the things that you want to appear on the registry. Very cool!

Well, wouldn't you know it, we happened upon a Gordon Ramsay display of stuff and our little scanner was goimg off like a machine gun!

... fit for a King, or in this case a Queen

Yesterday started out with a homemade gift from Maddie. A book holder to match my candle holder that she made in Metal class. Then her and I packed up my wedding dress and went for my first fitting. All glamorous and fun. Later Dean and I exchanged gifts, Valentine's for him and Birthday for me... Then Valentine's for me. As you know Dean loves to cook so... the first course was easy, sushi from the local store. THEN... he heats up the BBQ for a mystery dinner... The smell of the food swirls around the house, but I haven't a clue what it is. Then Dean informs me, supper is ready, I walk into the kitchen and see a FEAST! I felt like King Arthur! Lamb, Steak AND Lobster!! ( Salad rolls for Maddie ) We feasted like you wouldn't believe. Still not over though.... for dessert, cheesecake. We settled into a comfy position on the couch ( not being able to move anyway ) and watched one of my birthday presents, Columbo. Ah yes.... life is good!

Columbo investigates Smallville....

Haha... for those of you who already know, I am a huge fan of the original CSI... Lieutenant Columbo. I love youtube... I found this little video, and it proves how ahead of his time Columbo was!!!

The Answer to "Where did Dean ask Selena to marry him?"

Yes! The polls was correct again. Wow - you guys seem really to know us - all four of our regular readers!

It was a great moment. Though we were there at the game for over 3 hours, when I remember back to it, it seems like just a moment. My whole world changed in that very moment when I asked Selena to marry me and her whole world changed when she said yes.

That's what life comes down to, some say. A few moments.

This was definitely one of them!

Catsus!!!

Haha, I love this one!!

A normal day in Evanston....

So, this morning I heard the snowplow on the street, can you believe it?! In all 11 years in Hidden Valley I never had the snowplow on my street. All winter long, I slid out of my parking space down the icy street. Then I heard the garbage truck, cleaning up the area and keeping the garbage off the streets. Oh ya, and then I heard the sirens closing down the drug house one street over. Evansmeade Common N.W.
Inside the house they found 848 marijuana plants with an estimated value of $1,060,000.
Police say no charges have been laid, and the investigation is continuing.
Another day in the 'hood.

The answer to "where has Dean NOT lived

Although some of you may have thought that "Squamish" isn't even a place.. it happens to be where Madison was born! Dean on the other hand, born in Winnipeg has moved to all these other places, and more, Of course Calgary, and Medicine Hat but never in BC.

Your Saturday evening Wellington

Dean got a Ramsay cookbook for Christmas and put it to the test with this Beef Wellington recipe, It turned out Scrumptiously!! And the best part.... no GOAT!!
