Christmas Time And Horror Movies

One of our favourite Christmas movies is called Krampus.  Of course it's a horror movie. I tell Selena often "Not everyone likes that" when it comes to mixing Christmas and horror.

Well today I was about to leave for work and saw a strange sight at the foot of the driveway.  It was a large Christmas ornament. It immediately reminded me of IT and the red balloon and the sewer grate.  Nooooooo!

I went out to investigate and moved it.  Nothing bad happened like in those Christmas horror movies.

All back to "normal" around here.  Merry Christmas!

The Polar Express!

On Halloween, we went to Mossleigh and we experienced The Terror Train as you know from a previous post.

Selena also discovered they have a slightly less bloody experience called The Polar Express.  If you haven't seen the movie, it's one we watch every year, along with other Christmas classics such as National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Black Christmas and Die Hard.   And yes Die Hard is totally a Christmas movie!

I had no idea what to expect.  The Polar Express is what the kids these days call an "immersive experience".  Not only do you actually travel down the tracks, all the characters are recreated.  It's all there - the dancing, the hot chocolate and Santa Clause.  They are actually licensed to do this so they have all the merchandise to make the experience even more magical.

I would highly recommend the trip out to Mossleigh and experience Christmas like you never have experienced it before

That Time Selena Tried To Pay For Dinner

It was cold and wet December day also known as Date Night.  I got home a little late so our plans for a movie were not in the cards.

Selena said she had a gift card from The Keg so let's go have a nice dinner.

I agreed and off we went.  It was a wonderful meal as usual and then the bill came.

Selena proudly pulls out what she thinks is a gift card and places is in front of the waiter.  The waiter politely says that's not a gift card.

At this time I started to pay attention and went to verify the waiter's statement.  I took a photo.

He was right!  What Selena had presented only looked like a gift card.  The waiter politely declined to exchange our meal for a worthless piece of plastic with a Keg logo on it.

Another adventure with Selena!

Truly a Christmas miracle.

To start this story I must go way back. Long ago we had a tree that fell down. In all the hoopla to get it back up we noticed that our little "Monsters inc" ornament had lost the girl character "Boo" (pictured above in red). Now, she is tiny to say the least .. and at the time we had a carpet that had overly thick shag ropes. It was so thick it was like a foot massage walking on it. Now zoom in to Maddie's little face sad about the broken ornament and asking if she can open a present ( smart kid lol ) so we say "if you find Boo, you can open one". Now in our mind this was an impossible request, until it wasn't. Not long after starting the search Maddie found Boo!!! We were stunned and so, let her open a present. Now cutscene to today, we have another tree ... That fell. And once again a few ornaments were broken in the crash and among them little Boo was lost again! There were piles of broken glass and pine needles and although I did look I did not find her. Given up hope now I hung the ornament without Boo. Then a little Christmas miracle... I was hanging a snowman on the bottom of the tree and looked up, what do I see trapped between two branches that could only have been seen from that exact direction? Little Boo!!!!! She is a stubborn little girl and now is happily glued back together with her friends!! Some Christmas magic for you :-)
