Maddie's Birthday List

Today "little" Maddie is 18! She had a list of things she could do today, being 18 now. Some of them, she didn't want to do, like buy spray paint, and some she wanted to but..... we didn't see an icecream truck that apparently is legal for her to drive now, ignoring the fact that she doesn't have a drivers lisence, but if she did, she could..... some of the things we did do tho' are as follows....
First I took her to a park to open presents.
Of course what's an 18th birthday without booze... good thing they didnt arrest us in the park!
Then we picked up Jen and Mack.... and Jen picked up Maddie
 ready for the list....
buy alcohol.... who knew it would be Mack's youg face that gave the liquor store attitude and were close to not letting them buy their goods!
 buy lottery tickets.....
order drinks in a pub, which we did last night yes... but today with friends!
 play a slot machine....
and win 6 dollars at said slot machine! Maddie also won another scratch ticket!
 the winnings.
hunt down a garage sale.... that has nothing to do being 18, but garage sale signs are hard to pass....
and heading to Mack's for the PARTY! Fun day..... with my little 18 year old!

At the pub with Maddie

At 12:01 we entered the Scotmans Well .... With our little adult!!
 Getting her ID ready
At the Scotman's Well :-) she was so proud to show her ID

Fairy ring

The other day Maddie noticed a perfect circle of darker grass in our yard. Today however we see what the ring actually is...... A perfect ring of mushrooms. It's obviously a fairy ring!!!!!

Tears and Joy Grad Finale'

Well Today was the final step of Maddie graduating.... all the tests are in, the lockers is cleared out and the gown is rented...... (Minus the hats as they are a weapon.....??!!??) but aside from that, it was THE best day today, from 7AM all the way til the wee hours of the morn..... but let's start here.....
9:15 the grads lined up for the yearbook picture.

A few minutes to get some pictures before heading into the church,
St. Albert the Great. Beautiful church.
Me and my Mouse.... proud moment!!
 Nicely done Kiddo :-)
Me and Kerry in the church, ( the orb shows someone visiting, I'm just sayin )
Maddie entering the church, she looks a little happy,
could be it's kicking in how big of a deal today is?
There has been so much rain lately, but today was beautiful!!
So in between the kids de-robed and ran thru the fountain....
.Mack and Maddie were first....
 AHHHH cold shot of water!!
 co cute....
In Grade 2 Maddie and Jen made time capsules.... today they got to open them.....
Kerry, Jen, Mack me Dean and Maddie went to Boston Pizza for lunch...
and we all waited to see what was inside the capsule.... Maddie had hair.... and a tooth lol
it was cute and funny to hear the thots of  7 year olds... Maddie and Jen both wanted world peace!
After lunch we headed to First Alliance Church for the graduation ceremonies...
Jen was first... wow congratz! So very proud of our girls :-)
Maddie did the happy dance across the stage, she said when she stepped on the stage it sunk in....
She gave Mr McDougal a huge hug... her favorite T.A ever!
A proud moment for both of them.
There it is in black and white....
Dianne gave me bubbles left over from her boys grad....
ladies and gentleman..... our graduates! lol They aren't so grown up after all :-)
 Maddie and Jen
Then after all the tears of joy, and hugs and congratz it was off to Jen's
for a bonfire and burning of the test papers!
all those green sheets they handed in over the years, were now just kindling
Emily came home yesterday.... just in time for grad :-)
They all told stories of something they learned or something they will miss at Carroll
"I'll miss checking in, in the morning..... even tho you hardly ever go"

 Diploma review package....
Cheers to us...... and those who need a few more months :-)

It was a fantastic day and evening.... so glad to be part of it..... and so proud of this great bunch of kids :-)

Bryan Adams

Dean mentions that one of the concerts he would like to see would be Bryan Adams, then the week after Dianne comes into work and says "Bryan Adams is coming did you hear?" With in minutes of texting Dean the news, he had ordered tickets!! We had no idea how great these seats would be.... until we sat down....
We were in Row 7!!! and me being short, this was a big deal, cause if we were too far back, I wouldn't see a thing as soon as people stood up, but here in the 7th row.... I was just fine!
He said some kewl lighting effects, they shone lights like what is on Bryan Adams across the crowd and we had a lit ceiling just out of our reach, I bet it looked kewl from above, it looked kewl from below!
The last 2 songs..... after 2 and a half hours of amazing - ness!! Bryan's band left and he did the last 2 by himself, he asked everyone to light up their phone to light up the night.... it looked awesome!
Our Vip passes, with our tickets we got a program, T-shirt, a kewl pass, and awesome seats each!
He sounded crystal clear, it was an amazing night!!!! One song they brought out a bunch of pails and pots and pans, the drummer sat in front in them and banged the hell out them for the whole song... who knew pots and pans could sound so great!!
These are from the Calgary Herald, they had a little better camera than my Iphone lol
Specatular!!!! I'm working on getting the song list.... he has so many hits it's crazy!
