Seemed scarier than it was...

This picture is of a car spinning on the road. That is how my morning started too! First Maddie called to say her buses were being stupid, not showing up, then being too full to take her. She ended up stranded at Northland Mall. Dean left to pick her up and bring her home. Then I left for work, within 10 minutes of being on Stoney Trail, my car started to spin, and suddenly I was turned around, facing traffic, and the car stalled. At this point, heart pounding, I got out of the car, and called Dean. I was hoping that the oncoming cars would avoid my lane, and not hit me! Dean arrived soon after, and by then the car started. He escorted me to work, and I arrived safely, a few fishtails later, but safe! So Dean was both our Knight in shining armour today!
Update Dean: Selena's spin reminded me of this commercial:

Lucky Escaped AGAIN

Wow, Lucky has really got his share of posts this year! Yes, he escaped this time by jumping about ten feet off the balcony and his adventure resulting in his own laundry day began. Just weeks previously Lucky had been granted full roaming rights for the whole house. From the first night we moved in to the house, Lucky has used the gate that keeps the cats downstairs as an amusing diversion. When we leave on holiday he roamed the house anyway and never left a trace that he'd been upstairs. So we figured we might as well just let him roam. So it's not that much of a surprise he would escape. He was found a few hours later about 10 houses down the street looking confused.

Maddie sleeps.

So, what do you do about the problem that is Lucky? Well, we figured he would escape again so we need to collar him so he can be returned when the inevitable day comes. What could go wrong?

Plenty apparently. He did not like his collar so he scratched at it so vigorously that he managed to scratch the fur around the collar right off! Well, remove the collar then - problem solved right? Nope! Lucky, along with being an expert escape artist, is also an obsessive groomer. He licked this bare spot so much that he started to remove all the fur on his neck! The pet store sold us this bitter spray which Selena accidently sampled and can attest is extremely bitter. This did not even slow down Lucky's grooming mission. Well, how about a shirt?

This worked. Lucky can't lick through his sweater and his shirt so the hair is finally growing back. And that is how Lucky managed to get himself a laundry day.

I Can Has Laundry Day?

Ok - so we have solved the problem of Lucky licking away all of his fur with the latest in cat fashion. Lucky is now a fashion icon in his cool shirt and sweater. However, now it has created another problem. Lucky now needs laundry services! Of all the things to worry about in the world, why not add Lucky's laundry day? Oh and in case your wondering when it is, it's every second Caturday! When else?

Here we see Lucky listening to a briefing on
the benefits of using Tide Coldwater.

First fire then wind

Last time we went to Costco we came home to a grass fire. This week it's a
Crazy wind storm!! When we got home we saw that our shed had blown over :-(

Cora

Ruby and Chels were in town and introduced us to a new restaraunt called Cora. They have amazing breakfasts and lunches. I had a fruit crepe smothered in nutella, all the food looked great and got lots of oohs and ahhs! It's in Northland mall and word of warning, come early!!
