The Alien tour of Vegas

A few Christmas's ago, we used this site for our Christmas card.... now you can barely even read what it says :-( kinda sad.... I want to go out there with some Undo and take all the stickers off....lol In the movie Paul, the sign looked like that, and I guess people thot it was a good idea.

below - this is from 2010

to the town of Rachel where you can get some area 51 souvenirs :-)

and eat at the Little Ale Inn

gotta get me an Alien burger

Even the beer is Alien, and you get to keep the cap and bottle :-)

Signed posters from the Movie Paul, and our favorite stars from Shaun of the Dead lol

Alien fruit pie anyone??

the ceiling is covered with signed dollar bills from all over the world... we have to use fives... looney's wouldn't hang well lol

self parking

oops a little windy in this town!!

we are friends.... we mean you no harm Mr. Alien

the famous mailbox

As the highway heads northwest through Tikaboo Valley, it meets Mail Box Road. Marked by a single postal drop known as the "black mailbox", the dirt access road leads to the restricted lands surrounding Area 51. The mailbox, which is no longer black, is commonly used as a gathering place for UFO seekers, and two to three UFO sightings per week allegedly occur in the area.

there's a mail slot on the side.... postcards to Mars?

We spent the day in Rachel, came 'home" and headed back to the real world, we have show tickets tonight, so time to find food and walk amongst the ungreen people.

inside the Venetian, you could go for a canal ride

or check our Madam Tussaud's museum.... I swear I was expecting him to move, all along the strip you see statues, and silver men, and others things that pretend to be stone.. this wax Johnny kinda creeped me out

Harrahs, such a kewl exterior

this is a new area, called the linq, with restaurants, pubs, and some really kewl stores, it's between hotels, and probably gave new life to the Flamingo.

this giant wheel is top of our list for the next visit, you get a great view of the city! We just ran out of time.

We went to the polaroid museum, inside the polaroid bar, very kewl place, we printed a pic from my phone and it looks like a 9x11 polaroid. This was especially kewl, since i have that camera in my scrap room on the random shelf lol

and this camera Dean's dad had...

the prototype for the camera

boo

this is kewl, this polaroid camera prints 20 x 24 prints!!!!

here is me uploading my photo and sending it to print.... seconds after.... All the machines went dark...lol i know, I have a power!

The high roller.... next time.... cheers!

over to see Penn and Teller at the Rio

we got to go on stage and check out the box and sign an envelope... later Teller walked out of that box? we were just there?? and the envelope held the answer to a random joke picked out of a stack of books! Pen and Teller was a great show!!! Magic fries my mind tho lol

A different view of the strip, the view from Rio, there is Treasure Island... AKA home

and if you are ever lost, the beacon from the Luxor will always direct you

Rio

we didn't have time for food before the show, and now it's 11:00, we walked and hunted for a restaurant to be open, we wanted seafood, and I guess at this hour you can't be picky, we settled on a burger joint, after passing many by, including one in our hotel, but we found a place open, by now it's midnight... in the  Mirage
turns out, it was an awesome choice!!! First I had an amazing orange cream soda, tasted like a creamsicle...

Dean had a crazy good shake

our burgers were fantastic!! and the bartender made an extra drink, so our waiter brought it over for us for free.... more yumminess!!

we walked around for another hour or so... soaking in the beautiful night air. Then headed back home, for the last sleep before the airport... :-(

at the airport, ciao for now Vegas

outside my plane window I see someone's suitcase wheel... oopsy, hope it isn't ours!

from the window, a better view of the wheel

there's little Treaure Island (the Y shaped hotel) compared to those giants

this was kinda kewl, we could see the Bellagio fountains from the plane!

and we arrived home to a thunder storm.... What the???

Well, that sums up another great journey.... I will have a few more pics to post from the phone, but for now.. good night :-)
