I had to visit an office this morning and to get their xrays working again. I came home to find The Studio had been transformed into The Hair Studio. I sat down and called up Drudge and then noticed what was playing on the TV.
I mentioned it and they said "Oh yeah - I guess that was an interesting choice." Hahaha!
Do you recognize it? Hint: It isn't Breakfast Club!
The answer:
So just in case you were wondering - EVERY day is Halloween around here!
This weekend, I was fortunate enough to be invited over to some friends to celebrate The Event - The Superbowl. Now, I do not usually follow the NFL and the stats, coaches and player's names fly over my head. I have no idea. But I liked being part of the celebration of this event and am going to try and celebrate it every year. It's fun. Almost as fun as an election or the State of the Union...
I have some pretty good family out there. My brother in law, he was known once as "The other Dean", sent a really nice gift to me via my parents last week. A 24 pack of Coors. My absolute favourite beer in the world. It was first beer I ever drank when I turned 18 (and admittedly a little bit before I turned 18). For some reason, Coors Heavy, as we affectionately call it is no longer sold in most beer stores. It has been replaced by Coors Light which I really don't care for.
Our gracious hosts have some american roots. When I showed up with Coors Heavy, one of our hosts was a little taken aback. He held it in his hands and made the sound when as if he'd found the holy grail! Finally, I know someone who GETS IT!
Through the technical wizardry of YouTube I am actually able to go back to the 1980s and see why I loved this beer so much - what hooked me? Remember Mark Harmon? Yeah, NCIS, Mark Harmon! He hooked me on the Coors! Here's why - I liked all of them but this first one was my favourite:
And now you know, why over 20 years later (wow, where did the time go?), Coors is The One.
... like a writing desk? I have been a Alice in Wonderland fan for many years, and every now and then I think about the Mad Hatter's question "why is a raven like a writing desk" there is no answer... the riddle itself is in the fact that there is no answer... just part of the topsy turvey mind of Lewis Carrol. But it got me thinkin.... is there an answer? so off to my friend google I go...
This riddle is famous, although it's the rarefied kind of fame that entails most people never having heard of it. Lewis was bombarded with letters asking the answer but there was none, finally giving in to peer pressure he did submit an answer.... 'Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!' This, however, is merely an afterthought; the Riddle, as originally invented, had no answer at all.
and so the legend lives on in every new Alice in wonderland story, just as it was.... an unanswered "mad" question :-)
Well the party is winding down, not quite finished there are still 4 of us left, but here are the goings on as the night progressed.... Dianne tried to freeze us out of the house so she brought Cathy a nice fuzzy blanket, look at the love in her eyes we were supposed to bring a $3.00 treat, but we didn't know there was a game planned, so we opened the gummy tarantula's oopsy! they were really good tho' and a little creepy!
more tarantula's
then the game unfolded, all the treats were put in the center of the table, (even my open bag)and the timer was set, we had 8 minutes and everyone rolled the dice in turn, if you rolled a 6 or a 2 you would pick a treat, then you hid it, and the next person could pick a new treat or steal yours IF they remembered what you had, you just kept rolling til the timer went.... Fun game!!! we played another game tonight too, everyone submitted a story, funny or embarrassing and then the host reads them all, and we had to guess who's story belongs to who.... that was hilarious!!!
Jennifer and Nola, everyone fought over the Rocher' it went around and around the table...
I ended up with 2 treats, one was the open bag of tarantula's and a cute heart bag filled with kisses...
We made Dianne turn up the heat, and then asked for tea... Cathy wanted 7 teaspoons of sugar in her tea, so Dianne brought her tea with 7 spoons in it.... she may be mean with the heat, but she's witty.... Just kidding Di, we still love you :-) thanx for hosting... it was a fun, fun, party!!
Our work had a contest, to see which store got the most "likes" on facebook. The winner got a pizza party! .... and we won! So Dianne hosted, or I should say is hosting, as this is live.... I thot I would take a few before ( the martini's ) pic, and more after.... let the fun begin Dianne, me, Carolyn and Holly...
Crystal creatin' with copics
"other"Angela and Lisa, scrappin and card makin' ....and Angela :-) more to come
This picture is in honour of Gloria because she is missing.........
Some time last year, I noticed it was harder and harder to see up close, I was always pulling things farther away from my face to focus.... sometimes when I scrapbook I can't get far enuff away so I have to stand... this just wasn't cutting in my scrappin world. So I went to see the eye doctor, and I told him my problem. He looked at my age on the chart, and said "ya, you lasted longer than most" great....lol getting old is great.... but then I got to pick out these really kewl glasses... so I guess there is a silver lining, or in this case, a purple one! wink

I can't believe it has been so long... let's see Christmas came and went, then New Years, this was the first New Years that Maddie spent with friends instead of me.... kinda weird...lol we did phone each other tho'. New Years, we played games, ate too much laughed tons and ended the night with rock band, somewhere around 3 am ish..... and last weekend I had a few scrap girlies over for the weekend scrapapalooza.... so there was fun in these missing days..... just no blogging....

Angela got a flat tire so Dean and Nate fixed it early on, so as not to interrupt the partying
Happy New Years!!!!!!!!!!

Carolyn didn't approve of my choice of music so she turned on her itunes and started to sing to her laptop....
