The Mindless, Mineless, Mine tour!
I had seen a poster in Drumheller the last time I was there and was so intrigued, I took a picture and sent it to Dean... only problem it was only on Sunday and Wednesday nights... it's a long drive to Drumheller on a "school Night" so I didn't know if it work out. Long story short.... we ended up going on the long weekend when Monday was a holiday, so we were all set to be spooked out of our minds, going on a ghost walk tour in a MINE!
The setting was great, as we waited for our tour guide to finish her day, and start the tour.We were getting suspicious at this time... there were some frightening clues that led us to believe this wasn't what we thot???
so we start on our journey, at 7pm in the summer, it's pretty bright outside.... not so scray at all.....
but we went into the wash house, there was apparently some good ghost stories in here, it was kinda creepy with all the hooks and coats hanging from the ceiling. Note that the camera is very good in the dark... so this room actually had no lights or sunlight in here, it was quite dark, with creepy things hanging from the ceiling, so imagine it dark.
The mine itself is kinda ominous... looming over the yard like a big arm ready to scoop up unwanted visitors....
the line of old mine cars.... the "graveyard " if you will.....
Big Bertha, she had a big death count under her belt. Psychics said she was painted red, but in reality she was battleship gray. Could it have been all the blood on her that made her look like she was painted red...??
different part of the cart graveyard....
and back to the mine...... oh right! I forgot about the mine pictures..... there aren't any... :-( why you ask? was it because we weren't allowed? Did I run out of card space? or battery? NO!!! there are no mine pictures... because we DID NOT GO INTO the mine???!!! Talk about lunchbag letdown!!!!!
I was so disappointed :-( Dean said the only thing scary was the money flying out of his pocket.... so I was hoping that the burger I had in Drumheller last time would appease Dean and he would forgive me for dragging him all the way to Drumheller for a Mineless ghost mine tour. As we were driving he said is it in a restaurant or a pub? I answered a pub. Then it hit us , maybe it won't be open on a Sunday? this would not have gone over well!!
but it was open! Whew! We ordered a bud light lime, and the waitress said there was only one left, I quickly said, give it to Dean.... lol
the burger was amazing :-) and he has forgiven me....
here is the evil poster... nothing would have been creepier than a cold dark mine tour... but nope we were outside in the daylight, listening to stories of mine accidents.... grrrrrrr so as we said when we left..... we went so you Don't Have TO!!!

2 and 2/3rds men
Finally we got to go to Jubilations with Holly, Dave and Nish. This was the ticket Nish won 2 years ago for best costume at our Halloween Party. So we all decided to go see 2 and 2/3rds men. It worked to be close to Maddie and Nish's birthday, so that was a good excuse :-)

Dave, Maddie and Nish
Holly, me and Dean
when we walked in I was confused, there was an underwater theme? were we in the wrong show?? but then I understood, It was Jakes grad.... and the theme was.... under the sea....this time we ALL got to drink :-) Happy birthdays Nish and Maddie....
the guidence counsellor.... and science teacher...... they concocted a drink for Holly.... and it was so good.... we all wanted one!!
"Bertha" aka Berta... was AMAZING! she channelled Berta perfectly!
Nish and Maddie went up for the birthday song.... they got a postcard of the show signed by the cast.... kewl!!! That was fun.... we just may have to do that again!!

Cheyanne's Visit
Cheyanne came to visit from July 15 - July 24. The girls had a blast, they had to fend for themselves this year tho' as I was working all week. But Maddie knows the city by bus route so they went on a few adventures, and then at night we would find things to do.
The night Cheyanne arrived was the last night of Stampede, and because it was the 100 year celebration the fireworks were across the city. On the grounds the finale is a firework show, and 4 other places around the city had matching fireworks. From Nose Hill Park you could see all 5 at once!!! That was crazy kewl!!! We made popcorn, and headed to the park. Maddie Logged in to the radio station so we could hear the music too!
We had a shopping day and went to Peter's Drive Inn for lunch.
We picked up Mack one day and went to Butterfield Acres, The girls favorite spot since they were little :-)
feeding the goats, they were better behaved this year, last time they surrounded us and were very aggressive.
Feeding grass to old Nelly
Sheep!! Baa baa
On the Hay ride... too short and no Pumpkins lol ( we always went on the hay ride to find pumpkins in October )
3 little Piggy's
cones full of food to feed the goats
Then one night we went to Drumheller.
The girls had to fight over the cute Dinosaur
we went on a ghost walk tour and ended up at a building that used to be a morgue....
creepy......
we had a bonfire one night, and I showed Cheyanne how to write with a sparkler :-)
and then the 9 days were over .....
They went too fast :-( see you next time Cheyanne :-) I will have to get pictures from Maddie of their adventures on their own.

the tag on Dale's runner is the timer, it will record her time when she crosses the line.....but what Dean likes... is that the tag is also a beer ticket at the end of the run!so while Dale got ready, we... had a beer, we were celebrating.... for Dale :-) Evar and Dean
