Tourists ripped off in overnight burglaries at Strip hotels

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Millions of tourists flock to Las Vegas for a vacation they'll never forget, but for Paul Burke a picture in front of the iconic welcome sign is the only good memory of his trip. He snapped it just before he said his stuff was ripped off from inside his Luxor hotel room.
"We were pretty shocked about," Burke said.
On Skype from Liverpool England, Burke told Action News he checked into the Luxor last week and after a night out on the Strip came back to his room on the 20th floor. Sometime during the night, Burke said a brazen thief came inside and took off with valuables and he didn't hear a thing.
"Didn't hear a sound," Burke said. "Slept like a baby."
Burke said the thief took two cellphones, a camera, clothing and $300 cash. It's crime police call door pushing and it happens when guests think they close the door behind them. But if the door doesn't latch, it's just enough to give a thief entry into a room.
"After the theft we actually couldn't sleep properly at night," Burke said. "We were sleeping with one eye open."
Action News has reported about door pushing before. Last April an Ohio couple told Action News it also happened to them at the Luxor. Both break-ins were reported to hotel security with little luck of every getting anything back.
"There was no forced entry and the door wasn't tampered with," Burke said. "So they said that was the end of the matter and there was nothing we could do."
In a statement to Action News, MGM Reports which owns the Luxor stated "Our resorts have extensive security and surveillance systems in place. Guests should always remain aware of their surroundings and ensure that their hotel room doors are securely closed and locked at all times."

Some weird ritual? putting your empty bud "light" on the light??

We messed with them, and switched them around...lol see if they notice?

There is our castle that we call home for the next few days!
