Vegas part 2

Ok now that I am home, well alomost home, I turned around and headed to the Georgetown, but I should have time to blog here! We met up with our friends Barry and Sheila for lunch and a very kewl coffee at a pretty little mall called Tivoli.

Barry and Sheila

Then we headed to the Neon Museum for our tour. If you haven't done this tour and you love Vegas history.... take this tour!!! it is so awesome!!! These are parts of the old Stardust sign

Vintage Sahara sign

This sign was restored and shines proudly in the museum

On the angle is the Moulin Rouge sign, they were lucky to get this sign, weeks before the hotel burned to the ground!!

And one of my favorite signs fully restored and glowing in all it's beauty, the Silver Slipper !!

The entrance to the museum, this was the entrance to the hotel La Concha, this cement piece was sawed into 8 large pieces, and reassembled here as the lobby. I love this tour!!!

We went for dinner to Mandalay Bay and found House of Blues, the dinner was so yummy, and the entertainment fantastic! This guy came out, he played guitar, and he said let me just build this song? We weren't sure what that meant, but then he played a few notes on the guitar, then he tapped a rhythem on the guitar, then he sang kewl sounds into the mike. Then he started playing and used these bits and pieces to his music... it was awesome!! Wish he was playing all night!! The decor was neat too, their statues and creatures were made out of bottle caps and crushed beer cans!

into the Luxor.... very kewl display for Criss Angel, but we still won't go , unless it;s free. We have hears way too many bad revues!!

Our goal tonight was to walk the strip.... so off we went. Here are the fountains in front of Caesars

The old Flamingo, still stands...

TI or Treasure Island, we were hoping to catch the Sirens show, but they don't do it anymore :-( we were denied twice, once to rain and once to cold.

Hoover Dam day. Another beautiful day in Nevada. And Arizona, which we walked to when we went from one side of the dame to the other.

We messed up our timing so we weren't able to take the long tour. We got the mini version, which was still really kewl. More for next trip....

looking down the Colorado River and a view of Memorial bridge, which was constucted after 9/11 and concern about who was crossing the Hoover dam bridge, so this was the bi-pass and for awhile restricted access only was allowed to drive on the dam bridge.

The Hoover dam from the Arizona side. It was really hard to capture this on one photo! It is just as bigger or bigger than I imagined!!!

After a gorgeous day around the dessert we were off the Mob Museum, This was done so well, great place to visit! It opened months after we were here last, so it was a must this trip. It opened on Valentines day... I'm guessing to honor the St Valentine's day masacre? And yes... that is an evil look on my face!

Mob Museum, it used to be a Postal office and courthouse. They kept the courthouse, and the same judges desk is there where they actually deliberated years ago about the crime in Las Vegas!

Close by the Mob Museum is Freemont Street, so we went for a quick look. The rules are different here, you can't go into stores with open alcohol, but apperently you can stand on the street corner for tips wearing only paint....lol Freemont rules??

Cheers, for all I know I wasn't supposed to cross the street with a beer either.... lol but I have clothes on!!

OMG this was the weirdest casino ever. After going to the Neon Museum we saw a sign for Sassy Sally, and now in it's place is the Mermaid. So we wanted to check it out. It's the only place where you can play with actual coins, and here the ching ching as your winnings fall into the pan.... but... it is so SMALL!! it took awhile to orient ourselves when we realized that the walls are all mirrors to give the illusion of grandeur, but its a narrow strip with awful food and weirdness all around you. The end.... go home lol this is it!! We were lured in with White Castle signs... but were fooled with microwaved burger pucks ROFL!!!

After the old "strip" we headed home, got dolled up and went to Ramsay's steak. were we ever in for a treat of being treated like royalty!!!

Behind Dean you can see the Neon on the roof, that depicts Ramsay's hand movements when he makes his beef wellington

First impression, an ipad plunked in front of us to choose our drinks, there were so many interesting choices,

we ordered the Ramsay Hell Kitchen dinner, everything was incredible, and the meal was spaced out thru the night, it was such a perfect dinner and night. To top it off, we got to keep the menu and a signed pic or Ramsay in front of the Paris. Cheers!! I had raspberry beer YUM

There are a few more pics to post, but they are in the cell phone, or in the tourist photo pacs, which I will scan and show you soon..... here is the airport..... can we stay longer?? or come back soon??
