Things I Just Didn't Know!

If you have an animal that has bad posture problems or has lost the spring in their step, apparently, there is help!

I did not know there were such things as Animal Chiropractors - here is photographic proof. You learn something new every day!

Is That a Picinic Basket Boo Boo

I didn't want to do a rant blog about the mosquitoes in Calgary. So I will just say this.... mosquitoes suck ( well actually they inject, but they still suck!! ) and leave it at that.

By the way I have been to this town, where this giant "skitter" sits Komarno MB.

Regardless of the population of human vrs. bug... we had a very nice picnic! We packed up the Coleman, chairs and 2 great books and headed to Bowness Park. We had to move the blanket a few times to keep in the sun... you could hear the buzzing in the shade, waiting to attack!!

The water was freeeeezing, and people were swimming, my legs were numb in an instant!~!

We sat and waited for the ducks to swim by...

...and saw a whole family :-)

( sigh ) I love summer.....

Bubble Tea

This new craze, I'll say new, but really it's only new to me, Bubble Tea has been around awhile. The one Maddie introduced us to is a fruit Bubble Tea with "pearls" at the bottom. You need a huge straw to get these tapioca balls out of the cup. But even though I am chewing my drink.... it's really good!! I was surprised. Maddie talks about them all the time, so we had to try. My favorite is the Mango. So I recommend heading to your closest T&T market, and getting one for yourself.

God 1, Evanston 1

On Thursday night, as posted below, God took out a house in Evanston with a spectacular lightning strike. Wow!

Well, last night, He tried again but Evanston won this round. Selena captured some pictures of the "fight." Enjoy!

Lightening stikes twice!!

We have been in the vicinity, with in hours of 2 lightening strikes in a weeks time! In
The hat after we left, right across the street a tree was struck and fell across the road. Then on Thursday in Evanston a house under construction was hit and started on fire!! I'm starting to get that X-file feeling......

502 South

I should have run a poll to see if anyone could guess what "502 South" could be. It is in fact a restaurant that just opened up in Medicine Hat. We were in such disbelief about the name that to prove it was wrong we drove there. The sign was real, no lights on and no indication any where that there was a restaurant hiding in the dark building. When we entered on a Saturday night, with no patrons in sight we were greeted with shock! Then when we asked about the lounge ( The Ottoman) we were told we had to leave! But to go outside and enter it through the up stairs. So we did. Inside was another empty building... but they did serve good drinks. One I had never heard of before, it was pretty yummy!!

I still had my cowboy hat on from the Stampede breakfast that morning, and was trying to avoid hat head... so Papa John told the waiter I was from San Antonio to do a write up about the restaurant I had my monster camera with me, but no accent to comply with this game. It did give us permission to snap away tho and I told the waiter he will be blogged! So I wasn't fibbing.

Hat's off ( well not really )

Dean was on holidays this week, and since we had nothing planned and he got a few calls to work, it didn't really seem like a break. So what better way to have a relaxing day or 2? Head to the Hat! We were going to surprise the Napa's but our plans were foiled when Papa was having computer problems and they had to call. We had to say we were on our way. ( After our Stampede Breakfast ( pancake ) that is.

Hat on head we headed out. We spent most of the time under the shady, grape covered "Bush and Shonk" It is a little piece of heaven. To those of who don't know what a Bush and Shonk is, and I can't even imagine hot to spell it, it is an outdoor " cafe " right in your own back yard. In this case the Napa's yard, but it's the best place in the world to be. We ate out there, sat and chatted, read, and of course drank Papa's wine!

You've heard of Napa Valley? This is Napa Bush and Shonk.

"Pancake" breakfast

We went to our first ever Evanston Pancake Breakfast. The volunteers worked their butts off! But in the end.... being at the end ( of the line ) after our hour wait... we literally got A pancake! It was a good one mind you, but I guess that's good news in a community when you underestimate the population that will show up! Congrats to the crew.... but next time..... bring more batter!

Evanston Park

Apparently we were mistaken... there is no lake in Evanston, it must've been faulty drains or too much rain, but it's all dried up and now it's a park!!
