Best of New Orleans After Dark.

Selena and I ventured southward on Friday to try and re-experience a taste of New Orleans at the previously blogged restuarant Best of New Orleans in Okotoks. A live band played New Orleans style music throughout the dinner. We really enjoyed lunch there and dinner did not disappoint. My only complaint is that I didnt get to try all their offerings.

We started with Oysters on the Half Shell which we really enjoyed with reckless abandon while we were in New Orleans. We also ordered a scallop appetizer that also excellent.

I settled on Seafood Au Gratin. It was a medley of seafood (shrimp, crab and scallops) in an exquisite cheese sauce. Selena went with the Crawfish Etouffe which was the same dish we made at our New Orleans cooking class. She really enjoyed it. But not as much as the one we made in the cooking class, haha!

We finished a great night off with a homemade pecan flan for me and what else for Selena but some Bread Pudding (also featured as the dessert at our cooking class.)

Awesome food and a great night - New Orleans style!
