Zombies are dead and well and eating in Downtown Calgary

Today was the Zombie walk downtown.... and I finally got to go!!!! And to think we were supposed to be out of town this weekend! I would've cried lol Carolyn and Jennifer came over to join me and Maddie. We got ready at my house, then we hit the streets...... in Zombieland!

when we first saw this girl, we thot, kewl she's got a great costume, but she would stand for minutes on end and not move, then she would cough and we all thot she would cough up a lung, or spit blood.... then we decided she was a REAL zombie!!

The Zombie walk was a success, amazing weather, wicked zombies and a great all around day!!!

Mistaken Identity

I got a call from Dianne the other day, she said she had a gift for me and she would leave it in my folder at work.... so I skip to work and check to see what goody Dianne has left for me... I find the cutest napkins! So I thank Dianne, and I get the response of "what napkins??" now I have confused two of us? Who left the mysterious gift?? So I ask around at work, and nobody seems to know? Then on the second day, I ask the right person and she says, Oh Lisa left those for you....lol ooops mistaken identity, I called Lisa and thanked her, then Dianne told me she forgot to put the gift in my folder it was in the coat room.... what are the odds, that she leaves a gift in the wrong spot and someone else takes her place! Too funny, anyway, it's all sorted out, and I love both gifts :-) Let the countdown begin..... OH!!! I guess I have been counting down for 3 months hehehehe

Today the garage is silent.... the electrician may be delayed til Monday now... :-( booo ! And the kicker is.... we have a friend who is an electrician... but this is kinda a package deal... so we wait, and he holds everyone up, oh well.... what can you do? The garage door is now completely gone, all insulated and drywalled.

I have been behind this car more times than I can remember! Now I know that we are both coming from home.... but really, I work at random times, and yet I still end up behind.... not 6 cars over, but behind.... this car over and over again!! What are the odds?? I like the little family on the window, they are all wearing Mickey ears, even the Cat. If we added 3 more cats to the picture, it would be us :-) I should stop her and have coffee one day?

Wednesdays with Carolyn

So yesterday was a double whammy, I had to take my car in to get it's yearly stuff done, AND I had to wait for the electrician to come, somewhere between now and then, you know how that works! Anyway.... there was a problem with finding a cement saw yesterday so that's why the door wasn't completely done, I wasn't sure if there would be any work done today... but then early morning I open my garage door to this......

they found a saw... which was good, but it must've taken 30 minutes for the garage to clear of dust... I thot it would take a kewl picture but my camera wouldn't co-operate, so I kept having to open the door and try and take a picture... I did that about 5 times before the shutter would click, I guess it had a hard time focusing thru the fog?? But in just those few moments there is a big dust layer in the house now... opps, it is a kewl pic tho :-)

all the siding is back on now, it doesn't look like the hood anymore!

then I found out that the electrician couldn't come til Friday :-( wahhh, I was very sad... but then Carolyn phoned and she was going to keep me company. but after she went to Michaels... as it turned out I was now free!!!! so she came to get me :-) Dean arrived home and texted "I am home but you are not, your like Lucky, how did you escape?" lol I told him Carolyn rescued me, and then he said " Wednesday's with Carolyn" which we laughed very hard at :-) So she came to pick me up and was my first guest, so I had to take a pic hehe

we spent much time browsing in Michaels, ran into friends and Scrapbooker customers all over the place, we were like famous people lol After that we went to Winner's, main reason.... Michaels didn't have a cold drink machine and we needed our Diet Coke! We walked in and there were all kinds of wonderfully ghoulish Halloween props... but my friend Carolyn likes the cuter side of Halloween. so this was her fave!

Carolyn also hates spiders..... and we saw these gorgeous glasses, real glass!! I always find kewl glasses in crappy plastic, frustrating!! So I was oohing and awwing over these beauties, when Carolyn said she would like to buy them for me, and add to my Halloween collection, in doing so, maybe getting over hating spiders a little bit :-) tytytyty I LOVE them....

We also saw.... glass dinner plates, I have been on the lookout for Halloween plates for a long time, with out spending 1000's of dollars at Royal Dalton... and there they were! All lined up pretty as can be in Winners..... I texted Dean with a question mark, wanna buy me an early Christmas present???? and the answer was yes!!!

So!! I finally got my wonderful Halloween plates!!!!!!!!!!!! Wednesday's with Carolyn is the best day ever!!!!!

Maryann retires

My friend Maryann has been a Dental Hygeinist for 39 years and just recently retired and to top it off she is moving to BC. The party was last weekend but we had a busy weekend so I thot I would post the blog when she actually moved....

this board ws hilarious.... there were gret photo's on it... but my favorite was the diary page when Maryann was a kid, saying we are moving to Teulon, MB I wonder what I have ahead. Also if you can see any of the photos you will see the newspaper clipping from when Maryann won runner up to Miss Manitoba!

in school Maryann had to wear this nurse hat, in her case, Hygiend hat, but she had to tuck ALL her hair under it! That was a lot of hair for a little hat!

me and Candice, the 3 of us used to work in a dental office together 6 years ago? I haven't seen Candice since then... it was a shocker to see her tonight!

So much goin on...

I think day 2 and 3 are in here... and then some. Monday morn the builders arrived, the garage door was opened for the last time!
