International Ave

Today we headed to Universal just to pick up our tickets and grab a taxi to International Ave. The hotel shuttle only went as far as here. It was 10 am, hot as heck already, and since we "aren't in Disney anymore" there is beer here, so we had one for breakfast ;-) then we headed off to the taxi stand and went to The Titanic Exhibition.

man when it rains here, it rains hard!!! thunder, lightening, buckets of water pour down, for about 5 minutes.. then the streets dry up, the humidity goes up... and it's hot again! Today was a good day to be indoors tho' there were allot of these rain bursts.
at the Titanic exhibition, our tickets had a name on them, afterwards we had to look them up on the passenger wall, and see if we were survivors or not. My ticket was the only survivor.

they did an awesome job with this museum. They repicated the stairwell, and it gave me goosebumps when we walked into this room. There were allot of original pieces from Titanic's sister ship here, since they were so similar it gave good reference as to what was on the titanic. There is also memorabelia from the movie set. authentic, with their certificates. Dicaprios costume is one of the them.

the cargo bay....we had 2 tourguides who stayed in character the whole time. The journey started in Ireland with the building of the ship, then went on to the sailing and the iceberg, so in the beginning the guide said, everything you know about the Titanic... hasn't happened yet. they were both great characters!

after the cargo bay we entered the time frame of the iceberg collision. We went into the room where the captain was, and the turned the temp down so you could feel the night air. It was a dramatic effect. After the next room we were back out on the deck, again very cold. The picture doesn't give you the great effects they did. If you looked over the edge, it looked like real water, and the stars were twinkling. Very cool!
2nd destination, WonderWorks. Full of science and doodads. Maddie and I played a game of laser tag... it was a blast ( literally ) we had unlimited bullets, and about 20 people ran around
shooting it was hilarious!

there was a simulated earthquake and a hurricane tunnel

inside Wonderworks, Maddie braved the daring stunt of lying on a bed of nails.. ouch!

after seeing all we could see and do in Wonderworks, we had dinner and watched a magic show. Maddie was in the front row, so Dean thot he was safe... little did he know, he would be the star of the show. At the very beginning "Tony" the magician, asked Dean to come up and pick a card from the deck. Then put it in a case and give it to somebody he didn't know. All thru the show, Tony would pull a card out of something, and ask Dean if this was his card, which he would always say no... then Tony would call him a liar in many forms all night. In the end he called Dean back on stage and played with him, turning him into a puppet of Cher, and Tony sang "you've got me babe' it was Hilarious!!! Then Dean's card ended up taped to a kids chair in the audience... baffling! Dean signed the card too, it was a really funny, entertaining show!

we hitched a ride down International Ave to get as close as we could to Universal's City Walk.
things that make you chuckle in the wee hours of the morn...

we went to the 10:55 pm show of Harry Potter, but while we waited we danced in the streets of City Walk
