Built by the request of Lillie Coit, who was rescued at age eight from a hotel fire, it was completed in 1934 for about 100 grand. She became the mascot of the SF fire dept. When she died at age 86, the SFFD attended her funeral. The tower gives us a 360 view of SF, wow. We got some great pics which, of course, we will post later.
Next, we will tour what is known as Telegraph Hill and visit the Levi's Visitors centre... I want to know how my favourite jeans are made...
